About the Founder, Beverly Stewart
Through hard work, perseverance and business acumen, Beverly Stewart, M.Ed. turned what was once a fledgling, 1-person tutoring service into the largest, most comprehensive provider of educational services in Delaware and the surrounding tri-state area. Upon its sale in 2018, her company provided over 125 wide-ranging educational and related services including 1-on-1 tutoring in over 60 subjects and translating and interpreting in over 20 languages.
Her successful business model and swift rise was documented in Entrepreneur magazine, the Philadelphia Business Journal, and in the nationally released how-to book for aspiring entrepreneurs, The Educational Entrepreneur: Making a Difference.
Since 1995, Beverly has offered her expertise to budding and seasoned entrepreneurs directly through BLS Business Consulting. Her 30+ years of business success have proven invaluable when guiding others to navigate their path.
Imparting her hard-won knowledge, she has become a leading expert for industry publications, as well as live radio and television and podcasts. Her insights have been featured in such national publications as The New York Times and Consumers Digest. In addition, she is a sought-after public speaker for high-profile regional and national events, including a TEDx talk.
Her success has also been recognized with more than 15 state and national awards, from the John Maxwell Transitional Leadership Top 100 Award, to the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Superstars in Business Award, to the Delaware Small Business Administration (SBA) Entrepreneurial Success Award and Small Businessperson of the Year Award, to the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Beverly has also been inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame of Delaware Women.
